ITINERARYDay 1: Arrival CairoWelcome to Cairo, Egypt.
Your tour manager will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport (Arrival procedures) and then he will escort you to the hotel by exclusive air-conditioned deluxe vehicle. At the hotel, the tour manager will assist with a smooth check-in and review your holiday itinerary with you to establish and confirm pick-up times for each tour. Overnight in Cairo. Day 2: Pyramids Tour – Train to AswanIn the morning enjoy a visit to Sakkara. Here you have the chance to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, which is the first Pyramid built and it is the world’s oldest stone structure. Later we drive to Memphis, the capital of the ancient kingdom and one of the most important cities throughout the history of ancient Egypt. Here we will visit the mostly open-air Memphis Museum and see the fallen statue of Ramses II.
In the afternoon we drive to Giza to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus, and see the enigmatic Sphinx: a pharaohs’ head with a lion’s body.
After that, you will be transferred to Giza railway station and take the sleeper train towards Aswan. Overnight in train. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch. Day 3: Aswan SightseeingArrive in Aswan and check in to the hotel. Start of the guided tour and visit to the fantastic Philae Temple and Aswan High Dam, an engineering miracle, built-in 1960. Free afternoon. Overnight in the hotel in Aswan. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch. Day 4: Abu Simbel SightseeingAt 3.30 am you will leave your hotel to go in a convoy, which starts at 4.00 am towards Abu Simbel to visit the location of the most famous temples (The Great and Small temples) of King Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertiti. The most spectacular aspect of this temple is its setting in the solid rock above the banks of the Nile River. The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, known as the “Nubian Monuments,” which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae (near Aswan).
Then return back to Aswan around 1 pm. Upon arrival to Aswan, you will be transferred to the Nile Cruise Embarkation. Overnight on board. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 5: Sail to Kom Ombo – Edfu, SightseeingArrive at Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Sobek. Continue sailing, then visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Overnight on board. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 6: Sail to Luxor, “West Bank Tour”In the morning a guided tour starts to see the Colossi of Memnon, Valley of the Kings, and the Valley of the Queens. Then visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, she was the only pharaonic woman who ruled ancient Egypt. Overnight on board. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 7: Luxor “East Bank Tour” / Train to CairoArrive in Luxor and check in to your hotel. Start of the guided tour and visit to Karnak Temple, the greatest example for worship in history, dedicated to God Amoun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. Then visit Luxor Temple. In the evening transfer to the train station to take the overnight train back to Cairo. Day 8: Cairo City TourIn the morning the tour starts with Old Cairo and you will see the remains of the Roman Towers, then visit the Hanging Church, the Abu Sirga Church, and the Synagogue. Then we’ll drive to Islamic Cairo and visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque and the Citadel of Salah El-Din.
In the afternoon you will visit the Egyptian Museum, which features artifacts from the pharaonic period. The museum displays a rare collection of 5000 years of art which is considered the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world including an exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamen, a collection of treasure, gold, and jewelry which was enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years. Transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch. Day 9: Final DepartureAfter breakfast, we will transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
